Ashton Drake

My first doll that I have ever bought myself came to my door from Ashton Drake when I was about 15. This doll is what started my ever growing collection of porcelain baby dolls. She has no name, and is simply titled 'Cute As A Button'. She was the very first baby doll in Titus Tomescu's Barely Yours Collection. Her popularity was sky high back in 1993, and her mold was retired in 1995. The doll won many, many awards, and if you own a Cute As A Button baby doll, you will clearly see why. Appearance:She is as cute as a button, and her title name suits her well. She comes in a sitting position, wearing an adorable pink and white 2 piece outfit. Her top is a little tie up, that shows her tiny bulging belly. On the back of the shirt the words Cute As A Button are written. The O in button has been replaced with a cute pink button, instead of the actual letter in stitching. Her bottom is basically just a pink and white diaper cover, with cute little frills in the back, and a smaller pink button attached to a small pink and white checked bow.

They have now become a classic icon, celebrating birth and life that now has stationary, bestselling books, greeting cards, calendars, photo albums, and the list goes on. One of the favorites of the Anne Geddes Dolls is the Anne Geddes Newborn Baby Doll. The Newborn Baby Doll is just made for hugging and loving by little girls, and comes with a specialty designed doll carrier for 18" dolls. This doll has exquisite sculpting and will not ever be repeated and the stocks are limited, so don't disappointed. This a doll that will be very valuable to collectors. You can get these dolls in gift sets that will make your collecting easier. The sets will include the beautiful baby clothing, toys, greeting cards, plus much more from her Baby Bee, Baby Bunny and Ladybug collections. The Anne Geddes dolls plush toys are totally irresistibly huggable. They are 9" long and are filled with a soft fiber. They are presented in reusable plastic eggs and arrive beautifully gift wrapped when purchased new. She has a creative way of dressing babies and/or young children as fictitious characters, such as little insects, flowers, fairytale creatures and animals. As she photographs the babies, she says "Babies are my inspiration and my joy. In them, I see innocence and the precious possibilities of each life unfolding. In my images, I hope to convey a measure of the beauty that exists in all children".1Anne is actually selected by parents, midwives and hospitals in her area. People send her photographs of their children and she keeps a file of hundreds of children. For her Anne Geddes Dolls, she prefers to concentrate now on infants under 6 weeks of age. Her studio is very baby friendly. She evens has a special room set aside for the mothers. But the question that we all have is, how does she get those babies to sleep? She has said that they provide a very comfortable and peaceful environment for the babies and the parents. Usually, when you see sleeping babies in her images, they are newborns.

Baby dolls are a great Christmas gift for toddlers, but not all baby dolls are appropriate for toddlers. If you are going to buy a toddler a baby doll this Christmas there are certain things that you want to remember when purchasing a baby doll.A toddler girl is usually thought of as a child between the ages of 1 and 3. At this age, many toddlers are still sticking items in their mouth, so you have to be careful with baby dolls that may have choking hazards, such as small pieces attached to them. Also, consider the age of the toddler you are buying the baby doll for. If she is only a year old, you won't want to get her an advanced and complicated baby doll that can easily be broken.
